To be held in your captivity~ India Arie
Song of Solomon is a book of the original Hebrew Bible. The book is a love song…speaking of the love between a man and a woman. Solomon repeats this several times throughout the Song of Songs…
For the last few months, I have been baffled by something that will probably seem very trivial, but I’m going to tell you anyway.
We talk so much about relationships on this site, that I have been forced to ask the simple question: how do we know if we are in one? Now, it may not seem that big of a deal to you, but let us consider the possibilities:
yes, i am going there.
while i appreciate the concept of a woman being “intimidating” because she is bold, confident, accomplished, educated, or even all four, i do not understand women who seem to lack the ability to be the partner that we are called to be.
oops! was that too church-y for some of you…oh well. let’s face the facts, God made adam and then presented eve as his “helpmeet.” don’t get mad at me, its all right there in genesis…
sometimes i find myself getting hung up on “types.” sometimes he’s not “my type…or, i’m not his type.” but i don’t want to write a blog about that madness, let’s look at it from a totally different angle. why? because no matter what we say, at the end of it all…”our type” just may not matter.
let’s see…
i have been inspired by the most unlikely source…would you believe that a sermon by john hagee on tbn (christian network) has created the inspiration i needed to write.
john hagee is usually pretty fire and brimstone, but i found myself not turning the channel, for once.
during the sermon, he talked about the kinds of love that exists in the world.

Although I usually steer clear, yesterday evening while tweeting, I participated in the trending topic “never trust”…
I came up with some very clever tweets (all based on actual experiences) such as…
#nevertrust a guy that wants you to go to his family bbq, and you just gave him your number the night before.
I have been somewhat paying attention to the media coverage involving Tiger Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren Woods.
I, for one feel that it is none of our business, and hopes that Tiger continues to not discuss the matter. Tiger does not owe us any explanations. I am not focused on what this incident means for him as a professional athlete or what it means to him personally…not to be callous, I would just rather not hear about it. Yet, I am discussing the scene that has been played out in the media…Elin coming after Tiger with a golf club possibly striking him and damaging his vehicle causing him to wreck his car while backing out of the driveway of their home.
so…someone might be a little offended, but after looking at the recent rash of very public divorces by none other than some of God’s “top people”…this recent trend inspired an investigation into what could possibly be the problem.
did you know:
that the christian divorce rate is 60%?
the christians….God’s people! those that study the origins of adam and eve and know that “he who finds a wife, finds a good thing.” the christians!
You ask?
What would make me want to kill a man?
I will tell you…
Looking at a man’s eyes red with anger and rage, so full of hate that I fear for my life…
That would make me want to end his.
Knowing that a man is so selfish that he would sacrifice his family’s safety…so selfish that he only acts for self, regardless of the consequences.
Witnessing a man steal from his children…not caring if they go without…
Watching a man strike a mother
Watching a man strike his daughter
Watching a man strike his wife
Feeling a man strike me
What would make me want to kill a man?
I will do anything to protect mine…even sacrifice myself
I am strong, come after me…but no, you prey on the weak.
When I look at you I see a nothing…
You are a worthless…
Not being worthy of the air you breathe
What would make me want to kill a man…
HATE…ANGER…
But most importantly…LOVE
The love I have for myself, the love I have for my family
Thank God for love…
Because Love saved your life.
Now I just pray for this cycle to be broken
