I could probably write a thesis paper on the fallacy of reasoning within this book, but I am just going to touch upon the points that stood out to me.

The main point being…

The assumption that all men are alike…

As women, we are are constantly being told that we should not treat the next man like he was the last man…yet here is a man telling us that he can tell us to think like all men…because all men need and want the same things from us.

dating can be an intimidating experience. it is at its barest essence, an experiment in compatibility.  while both parties may share mutual interest in each other, the purpose of a date is to explore exactly what happens when we are confined to an intimate space.  will we continue to like each other, do we have awkward conversations, or does it all fall together like one romantic comedy.  these are just a few of the numerous subconscious questions that are presented and answered by the words and deeds of two people who ultimately want to be in a relationship.

don’t be alarmed. the only crime being committed is only punishable by divorce. but the way that infidelity is running rampant, the crime must have more perks than punishment.

imagine my surprise to learn that one of my favorite whyte gyrls (and i have called her that forever) is having problems with her husband. i guess i should clarify who it is because right about now, it could be anybody. so who is it? sandra bullock.

Colorful Babeby “The Old Married Lady,” Andrea J. Barefield

…my cookie is tired.

Let me say it again, my COOKIE is tired.  It is tired of shaking and popping and dropping and working as requested in the songs of today.  I think that if all the cookies of the world went on strike, (trust me, it is an extreme measure to be used only for shock value) then we could get some justice in this industry and perhaps we could get a vacation.  Rappers and singers are always demanding that we women do all the work and we are dumb enough to fall for it with a good beat and a tight hook.

recently an episode of the E! network’s hit show, “true hollywood story,” explored the lives of rap wives.  while everyone has a different story–starting with the progression from groupie, high school sweetheart, or even the gyrl from ’round the way to wife(y) –one thing is clear…the lives that every wife lives has its ups and downs, just like everyone else.

Call me confident or even conceited…but if you tell me that “he’s not that into you,” my response would be…

“Of course he is!”

The bigger issue–and the one that no one wants to talk about, is whether he is more into you than he is in to him.

Huh?

at least once per tv season, mtv airs its signature challenge of brawn, brains (at least some), and booty.  it has gone by many names, the gauntlet, the duel, the battle of the sexes, and even “fresh meat.”  this season, it’s “the ruins.”

in “the ruins,” as with the rest of the challenges, men and women from past episodes of the real world and road rules series compete for money and prizes, blah blah blah.
